Accreditation of Journalists for the Coverage of Hemus 2026 International Defence Equipment and Services Exhibition

 
Bulgaria will host the 17th edition of the International Exhibition of Defence Equipment Hemus 2026 that will take place in the period 3-6 June 2026 at the International Fair Plovdiv.

The exhibition will be held under the motto “Defence, Antiterrorism and Security.” This year, it will cover domains and subject sections focusing on technological advances in cybersecurity, unmanned autonomous systems for surveillance, information gathering, and response, artificial intelligence, social media monitoring and information analysis, strategic communications, border security, identification and biometric management, crisis management and disaster response, civil protection, as well as educational products in the subject area.

The exhibitors will direct their attention to opportunities for participation in the main modernisation projects of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The International Exhibition Hemus 2026 is held under the auspices of the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Economy and Industry. The major organiser is the Hemus-95 Foundation with Mr. Valko Stoilov as Chairman of the Board.

The exhibition will be accompanied by XXIII International Scientific Conference organised by the Professor Tsvetan Lazarov Defence Institute, as well as by the Industrial Forum, live demonstrations and test firings at Zmeyovo Central Artillery Technical Test Range, static and dynamic display, and demonstrations by the Services of the Armed Forces.

More than 150 Bulgarian and international companies and organizations from over 20 countries are expected to participate in “HEMUS 2026”, with the total exhibition area projected to exceed 5,000 sq.m. Invitations have been sent to 73 countries at ministerial level.

The official opening of the 17th International Defence Equipment Exhibition Hemus 2026 will take place at 11.00 a.m. on 3 June 2026 at the International Fair Plovdiv. Traditionally, before the opening ceremony, at 10.00 a.m., a joint press conference of the exhibition organisers will be held in the Press Club Hall of the Fair’s Congress Centre where you will have the opportunity to receive detailed information regarding the participants and the accompanying events.

The Press Centre of the Ministry of Defence will organise the admission of media representatives to cover the official opening of the International Exhibition Hemus 2026 and the accompanying events.
